This video came to me via email this morning from a Womens’ International club I belong to. The email encouraged club members to enjoy the time they would be living in Jamaica and listen closely to the words of this particular song.
The video made me realize that I now understand patois a great deal better than I did two years ago. “Yippy” was my feeling, as I hummed along to the tune.
Jamaica may not be easy, but the warm weather, interesting people and incredible beauty is amazing. Enjoy !!!!!
The Jamaican sprinters have been blazing trails again, and making Jamaicans all over the world very proud of this sunny Island.
Lightning Bolt, a household name since the Beijing Olympics has now left many repeating the words (9.58) beat that, and Jamaica to the world!!!! But it’s Asafa Powell, who most are incredibly happy for now as he has been getting a great deal of negative press lately. Many people started saying “he had to get his head sorted out before he could win a medal”
Asafa showed all Jamaicans and sport critics that he is indeed still a superb contender, after placing 3rd in the Berlin 100 meters final race. How overjoyed we all are.
